Landon reports to US camp

Landon has reported and begun training at the US National Team camp after scoring 2 goals in Saturday’s thrilling 2-2 tie against the Revolution in New England. The two goals give him an MLS best 16 for the season.

After the match Landon flew with new Galaxy teammate Eddie Lewis to Miami where the national team is preparing to visit Cuba in a World Cup Qualifying match on Sept 6th. Monday’s training session had only 8 players, but the rest of Bob Bradley’s 20 man roster should be arriving in the next 2 days from their respective clubs. Saturday’s kickoff is set for 7 P.M. Donovan's two goals vs. NE Revolution

The Los Angeles Galaxy tied the New England Revolution 2-2, after two sensational goals by Landon Donovan. Landon is the MLS goal scoring leader with 16 goals.

After the match Landon spoke about his two goals. He said, “Two very good passes. The first one went in to Edson (Buddle) and I saw he was pretty comfortable on it and he was calling for it, and when that happens, it’s kind of my cue to get going cause it might get to me. Landon selected to National Team for World Cup Qualifying

The United States men’s national team has important World Cup Qualifying matches in September and Landon has been chosen to play with the national team. The United States will play against Cuba on Sept. 6 in Havana and Trinidad & Tobago on Sept. 10 in Bridgeview, Ill. These are important games for the United States if they want to qualify for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Coach Bob Bradley said, “These next two games are very important to help us position ourselves to advance to the final stage. US defeats Guatemala in World Cup qualifier

Landon and the US Men’s National team won a rough, hard-fought game in Guatemala City, 1-0, to give them their first ever qualifying win on Guatemalan city. Playing on a wet field and in front of a loud and energetic home crowd, the Guatemalan’s had the better chances in the first half and at the start of the second. The US weathered the storm, even after Steve Cherundolo’s red card, in large part due to the Guatemalan side receiving their own ejection 3 minutes later.
