Landon Donovan has been named Everton’s Player of the Month for January.
The on-loan midfielder was presented with his award by Blues legend, Graeme Sharp and Kitbag representative, Victoria Schofield at a lunch in Goodison’s Dixie Dean Lounge on Thursday.
The 28-year-old received the accolade due to some fine performances since his arrival from MLS side LA Galaxy at the turn of the year.
The American international was delighted to be bestowed as the acknowlegdement comes from the Club’s fans.
Donovan said: “It’s a privilege to receive the recognition as it comes from the supporters.”
The USA record goalscorer played five times in the month of January, scoring once and on his debut assisted Leon Osman’s header at the Emirates.
After accepting his award, Donovan held a signing session at the Club store Everton One at Goodison.

on the anticipation Landan, that your loan deal, can not be extended, i would like to thank you for your stay at Everton fc, and the time and efforts you have put in, helping the club continue its great run this season. It has been a pleasure to watch you play in the blue shirt and a tribute to you for getting the number 9 shirt, which has been worn by many legends at Everton fc, which now includes you. Will be watching the Galaxy on tv when the MLS Starts again, and hope that you can come back to goodison park for another spell next season. Cheers for your goals and performances, Hull being the perfect ending. Mark

Landon if you stay at Everton you will be a legend. You are playing for an up and coming team with a long proud history, playing in Europe and playing at your prime. If you go back to Galaxy you will not be happy and will regret it for the rest of your life, as a footballers career is a short one and the team you are in now is a good one. How will you feel if Everton win the UEFA Europa League? Obviously happy, but also upset that you weren’t with them. You’ve proved yourself as the best in the MLS and you owe it to yourself and the American Soccer players to prove that you (and other Americans) can be he best outside of the MLS. No disrespect to the MLS but it’s not the Premier League.
STAY.
PLEASE!

Landon…amazing past number of weeks watching your performances with Everton. Just want to let you know the US soccer public is behind you and we’re enjoying seeing a Yank put defenders on their heels. Keep working, keep doing, I’d hope to see you stay across the pond and woo the Brits, but will be pleased to see you visit Houston with the Galaxy just as well. Keep up the good work!!

Well done Landon lad !!! You absolutely battered Gary Neville yesterday down the left wing. Hope you can stay at Everton until the world cup because we look so much stronger with a threat down the wings. Thought you were man of the match yesterday in my opinion! Good luck against Sporting Lisbon and Tottenham in the next week or so, lets bag all 3 points and get through to the next round of the Europa league. Keep up the good performances.

Landon,
This is a long overdue thank you for treating MacKenzie with such tenderness a few months ago when coach Arena introduced you to her the night you won the Western Conference Championship. Even signing the picture of you two together on the field was really special to her. Thank you for being a stand up guy (along with being the greatest US soccer player ever built).
We got drawn for tickets to see you take on Algeria this summer. Looking forward to it.
